How Bowdoin impacts to me?

Spending a one-year visiting program in the United States made me feel proud of myself and confident in making changes in Cambodia. The most interesting things in the U.S are the legal systems and the ways Americans think and do. I love legal systems in the United States and people do not want to have trouble with the law. So building strong legal systems in Cambodia is what I want to change. Moreover, most of American people always compete and challenge to each other. I think this is the best way to develop county because people try to do their best. Americans do not care about getting married and having family because they put their mind into their job and study. I do not mean that not having family is good; however, getting successful in study and career are priority.

I think I like educational systems in the U.S the most. The states provide enough materials, libraries, online documents and educational services to students. Parents do not worry about sending their children to schools. People treat each other equally for both male and female; live freely and do whatever they like. The cities and towns are safe and clean; the transportation is fast and easy to travel and the services are good.
I do not like some points in the U.S such as. Some teenagers or students spend a lot of time for entertainment. Too much entertainment makes young people crazy and do whatever they want such as drinking alcohol, playing games and using drugs. Youth wants to do what the most happiest in life and does not care about families and other people around. Also it has discrimination between American nationality and immigrants.

I love Bowdoin College because all people are very kind and its educational services are excellent. They treat students well; provide enough study materials and consultation. Professors and staff work hard and help students when they need. I think students themselves also study hard although professors did not check their attendance and performance in classes. Their goals are achieve high grade in class. Also, the food at Bowdoin is the best place in the world; they are delicious and have enough nutrition.
Professors are very capable and put their hard work into their careers. They spend a lot of time researching documents and study materials to make their lesson very interesting. I like the way that professors invite other expert or professional people to be guest speakers in class makes students more understanding the concept of lesson. Professors teach less hours and spend extra time with students for discussion individually. This is great opportunity to understand if they are not clear in class.

After I left Bowdoin, I think I am more important to Cambodia. People are more respectful to me and give me higher value for what I have achieved. It is also easy for me to apply for job because employers believe on educational systems in the United States and believe that I am capable to their place. I think my goal is still the same but it made me more confident in challenging with other people and dealing with struggles in the future.
In conclusion, spending a year in the United States was very great experience. I can see and understand the real practice of democracy and developed country. Moreover, I am very lucky to get to stay at Bowdoin College and to know its people. This wonderful memory will stay in my heart forever. I will try my best to make big changes in my country.
