Oda Alumni 2015-2016

It was a great experience in being a part of ODA Alumni and for having opportunities to support whatever I could for my high school.

In March 2015, I saw one of my high school senior posted in Oda Alumni group and shown an idea to form an alumni for my high school. Later on, there was a meeting between that senior and a friend who was from my generation and I was very interested in participating with them. So I contacted that them on Facebook and participated in the meeting.

After being part of Oda Alumni, I had opportunities to get to know more people and especially other former students who were my seniors and fellows. We formed executive team and planed for upcoming projects and invited other students to participate in our alumni.

Our first kick off projects were: providing computer for administration use of the school, rebuild the library, reconstruction of the computer room and planed the trees and garden. Our projects ran well and we had received good supports from other companies, organization and individuals.  

Additionally, in December 2015, we organized the inauguration of Oda Alumni and celebrated the Gratitude​ Ceremony for our former teachers.

Visiting Phu Quoc Island (Koh Tral)

I traveled to Phu Quoc Island with my family during year-end 2018. We bought round trip ticket, Phnom Penh-Phu Quoc, from Champa Mekong Express and it cost USD 52 for a person. It took around 3 hours and 30 minutes to travel from Phnom Penh to Prek Chak International Border Check Point and Ha Tien Border Crossing (Cambodian-Vietnamese border). The express company had a guide to assist us to get our passport stamped for both Cambodian and Vietnamese border crossing authorities. It took us around 2 hours to wait for passport crossing border permission and walk from Cambodia to Vietnamese territory. When we received our passports from the guide, a van picked us up and brought us to Ha Tien Ferry Terminal, around 15 minutes from Ha Tien crossing border. Please Help to Support Sok Yi's Education

Sok Yi, SRENG was born on 28 July 2000 in Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. She is the only daughter among the other three sons in the family who graduated from high school since 2018. Her parents are rice farmers. Her father studied only in grade 5 and her mother was in grade 7. Her older brother (21) studied until grade 8, he stopped studying and is currently working as a construction worker in his hometown. Her younger brother (17) stopped studying when he was in grade 7 and currently works in Phnom Penh City. Her youngest brother (14) is currently in grade 7 and, from time to time, he wants to stop studying to earn money to support his family.   Sok Yi comes to visit Royal University of Phnom Penh Her family does not have money to send her to continue higher education in Phnom Penh.
