Sok Yi, SRENG was born on 28 July 2000 in Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. She is the only daughter among the other three sons in the family who graduated from high school since 2018. Her parents are rice farmers. Her father studied only in grade 5 and her mother was in grade 7. Her older brother (21) studied until grade 8, he stopped studying and is currently working as a construction worker in his hometown. Her younger brother (17) stopped studying when he was in grade 7 and currently works in Phnom Penh City.
